Narrated Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him):
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace be upon him) said:
“No one will enter Paradise who has even a mustard-seed’s weight of arrogance in his heart, and no one will enter Hell who has even a mustard-seed’s weight of faith in his heart.”

Almighty Allaah said (translation):
The good deed and the evil deed cannot be equal. Repel (the evil) with one which is better (i.e. Allah ordered the faithful believers to be patient at the time of anger, and to excuse those who treat them badly), then verily! he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend.
[Quran, Surat Fussilat (41):34]
The Prophet (may Allah’s peace be upon him) said:
O people, calmly, calmly.
[Muslim]
He said at the time when the people were making clamour, were jostling noisily and the camels were making noise:
O people, go calmly for walking in haste is not from righteousness.
[al-Bukharee and Muslim]

One should not push to get to the Black Stone (during Hajj or ‘Umrah) as the Prophet (may Allah’s peace be upon him) said:
‘Umar, you are a strong man, so do not harm the weak and when you wish to touch it [Black Stone], wait until it becomes free and if not then face it and say Allahu Akbar.
[Ahmad; as quoted in 'A Manual on the Rites of Hajj,' by Sh. Alee ibn Wahf al-Qahtaani]
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) related that:
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace be upon him) prescribed for us the shortening of the mustache, clipping the fingernails, shaving the pubic hair, plucking under the armpits, and not to leave any of these for more than forty days.
[Muslim, an-Nisaa'ee, and Ibn Maajah; as quoted in 'A Manual on the Rites of Hajj,' by Sh. Alee ibn Wahf al-Qahtaani]
It is recommended to gather ones friends and to feed them on returning from a journey, as the Prophet (may Allah’s peace be upon him) used to do.
Jaabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) related that:
Whenever the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace be upon him) returned to al-Madeenah he sacrificed a camel or a cow.
[Muslim]
This food which is presented after a journey is known as al-Naqee’ah. This hadeeth shows that feeding the Imaam, the leader or ones friends upon returning from a journey was a recommended act with the salaf [companions of the Prophet and early generations].

Humayd at-Taweel narrates on the authority of Abu Qulaabah who said:
If displeasing news reaches you about your [Muslim] brother, then do your best to find an excuse for him, and if you are unable to find an excuse for him, then tell yourself:
“Maybe there is an excuse for my brother which I do not know of.”

Note: This is not a saying of the Prophet Muhammad or his companions.
Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (may Allah’s peace be upon him), said:
“He who serves others with drinking water should be the last to drink himself.”
[At-Tirmidhi]
Commentary from Riyad-us-Saliheen: Referring to this Hadith, Imam An-Nawawi stresses the manner of serving food or drink and says that the distributor should have his share in the end.
[Riyad-us-Saliheen; Chapter 115, #773. Dar-us-Salaam]
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (may Allah’s peace be upon him), said:
“When a morsel of any of you falls, he should pick it up and remove any of the dirt on it and then eat it, and should not leave it for Satan nor should wipe his hand with towel until he has licked his fingers, for he does not know in what portion of the food the blessing lies.”
[Muslim]
Partial commentary from Riyad-us-Saliheen: This Hadith tells us to pick up a fallen morsel and eat it after cleaning the dirt that may have stuck on it. This marks the expression of humility overcoming Satan as well as getting the blessing…
[Riyad-us-Saliheen; Chapter 109, #751. Dar-us-Salaam]
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace be upon him) commanded the licking of fingers and the gleaning of the dish, saying:
“You do not know in which portion the blessing lies.”
[Muslim]
Commentary from Riyad-us-Saliheen: This Hadith underlines the wisdom behind licking the fingers and the vessel. The eater never knows whether a blessing underlies what has been eaten by him, or the particles sticking to his fingers and vessels contain it. Those particles, therefore, should not be wasted; they should be made part of food by being licked. They may be invested with a blessing and proved more useful for the eater’s health and strength. Moreover, by this way he escapes disregarding the Bounty of Allah.
