“I did not see anyone who smiled more than Rasulullah (Messenger of Allah, Muhammad; may Allah’s peace be upon him)”

Look at those below you and not those above you.  It is better for you, so that you do not deny Allah’s blessings on you.

“No one will enter Paradise who has even a mustard-seed’s weight of arrogance in his heart, and no one will enter Hell who has even a mustard-seed’s weight of faith in his heart.”

The good deed and the evil deed cannot be equal.  Repel (the evil) with one which is better (i.e. Allah ordered the faithful believers to be patient at the time of anger, and to excuse those who treat them badly), then verily! he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend.

O people, go calmly for walking in haste is not from righteousness.

‘Umar, you are a strong man, so do not harm the weak and when you wish to touch it [Black Stone], wait until it becomes free and if not then face it and say Allahu Akbar.

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace be upon him) prescribed for us the shortening of the mustache, clipping the fingernails, shaving the pubic hair, plucking under the armpits, and not to leave any of these for more than forty days.

Jaabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) related that:

Whenever the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace be upon him) returned to al-Madeenah he sacrificed a camel or a cow.

This food which is presented after a journey is known as al-Naqee’ah.  This hadeeth shows that feeding the Imaam, the leader or ones friends upon returning from a journey was a recommended act with the salaf [companions of the Prophet and early generations].

If displeasing news reaches you about your [Muslim] brother, then do your best to find an excuse for him, and if you are unable to find an excuse for him, then tell yourself:

“Maybe there is an excuse for my brother which I do not know of.”

Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (may Allah’s peace be upon him), said:

“He who serves others with drinking water should be the last to drink himself.”

[At-Tirmidhi]

Commentary from Riyad-us-Saliheen:  Referring to this Hadith, Imam An-Nawawi stresses the manner of serving food or drink and says that the distributor should have his share in the end.
