Prophet Muhammad (may Allah’s peace be upon him) said:

“All mankind is from Adam and Eve; an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a White has no superiority over a Black nor a Black has any superiority over a White except by piety and good action.  Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood…”

Narrated Hakim bin Hizam (may Allah be pleased with him):

I asked the Prophet Muhammad (may Allah’s peace be upon him) (for some money) and he gave me, and then again I asked him and he gave me, and then again I asked him and he gave me and he (may Allah’s peace be upon him) then said:

“This wealth is (like) green and sweet (fruit), and whoever takes it without greed, Allah will bless it for him, but whoever takes it with greed, Allah will not bless it for him, and he will be like the one who eats but is never satisfied.  And the upper (giving) hand is better than the lower (taking) hand.”

The Prophet (may Allah’s peace be upon him) forbade that a man should be made to get up from his seat so that another might sit on it, but one should make room and spread out.
